There is nearly a 99.99% that the Atlantic Basin will have Zero Hurricanes\u00a0in the month of August. That is Uncommon! Most years have some hurricane activity during August. This could be a unique year\u00a0with no August hurricanes.\"\"<\/a>There were two Atlantic hurricanes in July this season: Beryl and Chris. And, 2 tropical storms in
\nAugust Debby and Ernesto.<\/p>\n

The satellite era began in 1966 having had no hurricane activity in August was five years ago in 2013. The 7 years with no hurricanes within the Atlantic basin in August was 1967, 1982,1984,1988,1997,2001 and 2002.<\/p>\n

If the month of August ends with no Hurricanes. \u00a0Look at the historical statistical numbers of Hurricanes and U.S. Landfalling Hurricanes. August has;
\n\uf0a7 the 2nd most Atlantic hurricane formations since 1851 with 245
\no U.S. Landfalling Hurricanes were 80
\n\uf0a7 September with 404 hurricanes
\no U.S. Landfalling Hurricanes were 111
\n\uf0a7 October is third with 205 hurricanes.
\no U.S. Landfalling Hurricanes were 54
\n\uf0a7 November had 59 hurricanes (for good measure)
\no U.S. Landfalling Hurricanes were 5<\/p>\n

We are still in possible jeopardy! Don\u2019t think because August had no Hurricanes, that it was a \u201cStorybook Ending.\u201d \u201cStorybook Endings don\u2019t come until the end of the story \u2026. Our story doesn\u2019t end for a number of months yet. Don\u2019t start to use up the supplies, like the water, soup and tuna. \u00a0A tropical storm can still do a lot of damage.<\/p>\n

There’s no guarantee that a hurricane will strike the U.S. in the next couple of months like what occurred in those years. All residents who live in Hurricane areas, especially of coastal locations should have a plan and a Personal Property Inventory ( www.harsfl.com)<\/a> in place every year no matter what.<\/p>\n
